Young adulthood is tough, and I love helping my clients learn how to balance the stress of college with the rest of their life. I have worked with many young adults who struggle with perfectionism or burnout. For specific treatment concerns, I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD/AuDHD, BFRBs (skin picking/hair pulling), and insomnia/sleep optimization. I can help if you're curious if you have a specific diagnosis and want to learn more, or if you're looking to understand yourself better and feel like you have the tools you need to handle whatever life throws your way. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and experienced in working with these clients. My office is about 5 min from the KSU campus in Kennesaw, and I see clients virtually as well.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like your emotions are running the show, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work with adults who are navigating stress, difficult experiences, and emotions that can make everyday life feel heavier than it should. You might feel like you should be coping better, but something keeps getting in the way. Therapy is a space where we slow things down, make sense of patterns, and build practical skills that actually work in real life. My approach is collaborative, practical, and supportive. I draw from DBT, CBT, trauma-informed, and person-centered therapy, but I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I focus on emotional regulation, self-compassion, and helping you feel more grounded and in control without asking you to be perfect. I approach my work with a balance of clinical expertise and lived understanding, always guided by what best supports my clients. Having been on both sides of the therapeutic space, I value creating an environment that feels safe, affirming, and human.

It is incredibly important to have a space where you can just be you. My hope is to provide a comfortable place to talk and process life events, to celebrate successes and to navigate through challenges. There are so many different areas of life that are important, and balancing them all, while finding time to process it all can be challenging. Sometimes dealing with family relationships while away at school can be hard, especially when they are changing and shifting. At times, learning to navigate anxiety and expectations for school and peers can be overwhelming. Figuring out how to balance it all can be a big task. My goal is to support and help you find ways to grow and learn, and navigate these times so that you can be and become who you want to be.
Despite your best effort you feel weighed down or worried, and you are not making the progress you expected. You need a space where your worries, faith, and cultural experiences are all taken seriously — so you can start moving through life with increased clarity, peace and capacity. Through evidence-based therapy integrated with Christian principles, I help professionals reduce anxiety, recover from burnout, and show up more effectively in work and relationships that matter most. Reaching out takes courage — and it is one of the most supportive and strategic decisions you can make for yourself. You were made for more than surviving. I would be honored to support your journey. Acceptance and change are hard. I help people face and make space for their life histories and experiences and support them in identifying and making the changes that lead to meaning and satisfaction in their lives and relationships. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide encouragement, support and guidance on your journey of healing and growth. My practice is focused on the needs of men, and I enjoy helping men that are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic illness or disability, relationship issues, complex trauma/childhood wounds, racial stress and trauma, and navigating adulthood/"failure to launch" and masculinity. As a Black man, I am committed to addressing the unique experiences of and challenges that face BIPOC men. I believe that humans are wired for connection and that profound and lasting healing comes from satisfying this essential need. My work is based on AEDP Psychotherapy (formally known as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and Emotionally Focused Therapy. The AEDP Institute (aedpinstitute.org) describes AEDP Psychotherapy as “an experiential model that seeks to alleviate patients’ psychological suffering by helping them process the overwhelming emotions associated with trauma in a way that facilitates corrective emotional and relational experiences that mobilize positive changes in our neuroplastic brains.” The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (iceeft.com/) describes Emotionally Focused Therapy as a “form of therapy that helps people understand and improve their emotional connection with themselves and others.” Both therapies emphasize the importance of our relationships with ourselves and others and use the power of corrective experiences with our emotions within the safe haven and secure base of the therapist-client relationship to fuel growth and healing. I also use skills and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other approaches that emphasize mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion when needed to facilitate healing. I come from a family of helpers and healers, and I have been privileged to help people in a variety of roles and settings. I have worked as a state social welfare caseworker, an assistant in a state library for the blind and disabled, a respiratory therapist and a medical social worker. I grew up in a military family and was fortunate to be exposed to and learn from a variety of cultures. I am a member of the "sandwich generation” and know what it means to care for and support older and younger family members with chronic illness and disability simultaneously. As a person living with chronic illness, I also have lived experience with the challenges and limitations that come along with living with a disability. My experiences have fostered in me a deep appreciation of and respect for the diversity of the human experience. When I am not working, I enjoy all things that involve good food, friends, and family. I look forward to learning more about you, who and what matters to you, and traveling with you on your journey of hope and healing!
Do you want to be listened to without criticism, judgment, or feelings of rejection? Most people do! But do you desire something more? When most people enter therapy, what they often truly desire is change. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are seeking while enjoying the process as much as possible. Simply said, I don’t believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe even a deep breath) to reach out and see how I can help. Life is too short to feel like you can’t measure up, let trauma control your relationships, or be anxious/angry all the time. I want you to be free of emotional pain, able to deal with life on life’s terms, and to find meaning & purpose in work, family, friendships, spirituality, and all other life areas. Since 2009, teenagers & adults have worked with me to deal with issues that are no joke. Beyond doing talk therapy, I have specialized training in EMDR & Brainspotting, which specializes in treating issues related to trauma, PTSD, anxiety, loss and insecurities often more quickly than traditional talk-therapies. Online Telehealth/Video sessions available.
Whether it's your first time in therapy or you're looking to build on the work you've already started, you do not have to do it alone. I'm the first person in my family to graduate from high school, and I have an authentic, lived understanding of adversity. As someone who's personally experienced the benefit of therapy and self exploration, I've now landed here and hoping to get to work with you. The goal of my space is a mixture of “kick off your shoes” and “get ready to roll up your sleeves.” Meaning, is it important that you feel met with empathy and free of judgment, while also understanding that growth involves effort and sometimes discomfort. I take a trauma-informed approach to help you explore how past experiences may be shaping your present patterns. Using an eclectic approach and somatic practices, we’ll work together to build insight, enhance self-awareness, and self-compassion. Progress can look like feeling more present, more in control, and more connected to yourself. I believe change begins with being heard and understood. I want to help you, help yourself.
College can be a fun and exciting chapter of life, but when something goes wrong, it can quickly feel out of control and overwhelming. Many students I work with are high achievers who appear to have it all together, yet privately struggle with anxiety, ADHD, self-doubt, loneliness, or the pressure to constantly perform and succeed, especially leading up to graduation as they prepare for the next chapter. When we live with constant pressures and a lack of self-compassion, we may begin feeling exhausted, disconnected, and unsure of ourselves. As a health psychologist, I enjoy helping college students navigate the academic, social, and personal challenges of this stage of life. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build practical skills to manage stress and stay focused, and strengthen your confidence and self-compassion. My goal is always to ensure you feel heard and understood, and to help you create a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and true to who you are. Together, we gain clarity on personal values, goals, and we build strategies to break through barriers and move towards what you truly want in life.

Life can often feel messy and chaotic. My passion is to help bring order out of chaos to facilitate growth and peace. I am a clinical social worker who provides individual therapy for adults. As a therapist my role is to provide a non-judgmental, safe environment for individuals to explore their life issues and support them in their personal growth. I find that a lot of us struggle with listening to our inner critic and often beat ourselves up for past regrets, as well as spending a lot of valuable time worrying about the past and the "what if's" in the future. I hope we can work together to quiet this critic and find a way to enjoy the present. My experience includes working with individuals in therapy addressing relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and assertiveness skills. I also work with individuals dealing with adjustments to major life changes, including adjusting to college. I also have experience working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in practice, but may also utilize other treatment approaches as appropriate for each individual. I encourage self-care and self-nurturing activities to support therapy. Contact me today to get started on this journey together. I can also provide ESA letters if appropriate for housing needs.
Many of the clients I work best with are people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of the next step in life. They may be dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, faith questions, or changes that feel difficult to manage on their own. Often, they’re looking for a safe place where they can talk openly, sort through their thoughts, and begin to rebuild confidence and peace. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place. My practice is built on creating a calm, supportive space where you can feel understood, respected, and encouraged. Together, we’ll explore what you’re facing, uncover what you need, and work toward real, practical change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
