Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
We help people who look happy on the outside actually feel that way on the inside. It's exhausting trying to keep it all together. Most of us expend a huge amount of effort to make it look like our life is perfect; especially on social media. Some of us even relate to the dreaded Imposter Syndrome. While our accomplishments may be lengthy, our relationships and fulfillment are lacking. We understand, and our approach reflects just that. Creating a connection is core to our approach to counseling. We work from a multitude of theoretical frameworks including person-centered, positive psychology, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and solution focused. Much of our experience has been helping people find balance in their lives and re-focus their energies on values important to them.
I welcome clients 20+ with life issues including anxiety, life transitions, self-compassion practice, family/relationship/boundary issues, self-esteem, stress of parenthood. If you feel burnt out, like you are doing too much, and that saying "no" feels overwhelming to consider, I might be a good fit for you. In addition to psychotherapy, I received training in Mindfulness and Meditation which helps with anxiety, emotional awareness, and self-compassion. I also use DBT skills training because I find that some behavioral work can be useful depending on each client's therapeutic process. I look forward to joining you in your journey when you are ready.
I think it can be normal to find therapy awkward, uncomfortable, or anxiety provoking, especially at first, and so it is really important to me to help create a space that can be tailored to support you as much as possible. I collaborate with you to uncover what you value, the person you would like to move towards being, and together we create a path that helps you move in the direction you would like to go. I use an integrative, client-led and trauma-informed approach that blends complementary therapeutic modalities to hold space for both your mind and body in sessions. The heart of which is a desire to understand you, to invite in curiosity, and to help support you in embodying your potential. Empathy and compassion play a big role in this as well as a little laughter. I will also lean into activation, discomfort, and challenging you at times. This is done with the explicit understanding this is your place to let me know when it is too much, when it is a “no”, or when I’ve mis-attuned. I use a feedback-informed approach to learn how to better support you. Feel free to visit my website to learn more about my specialties and the therapeutic approaches I use. I'm happy to answer any questions. I look forward to connecting!
Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist in Midtown Atlanta. I enjoy helping with anxiety concerns, men's issues/masculinity, relationship and social concerns, and depression, as well as a number of other concerns. I also have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate college students. I integrate different approaches, but work mainly using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and relational/interpersonal techniques. Additionally, I specialize in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches and the use of mindfulness meditation. My aim in therapy is to create a space of warmth, openness, and support so that we can lean into the difficult areas of your life, work to understand the ways you could grow, and begin to address them. I work actively to help my clients open up to their thoughts and emotions while also helping identify changes they can make to live life more effectively. I am patient, relatable, and flexible in my work, and you'll find that I am a humorous and light-hearted person, too. I also aim to be direct and authentic, giving helpful feedback when appropriate. Check out my website to get a better sense for my practice and the way I work with folks! If you are interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to reach out by phone or email, and we can set up a time for a brief initial consultation.

Anxiety is taking up more space in your life than you’d like. On the outside, things look successful—people rely on you, and you generally handle what’s in front of you. But internally, it can feel very different. Your mind replays conversations late at night. You hold yourself to impossibly high standards. That critical inner voice is quick to point out what you should have done better. Even when you accomplish something meaningful, it rarely feels like enough. You may be someone who was labeled “gifted” or high-achieving early on. You’re thoughtful, capable, and used to performing well under pressure. Yet the constant drive to get it right can leave you exhausted. You might notice tension in your body that never quite goes away, difficulty truly relaxing, or moments when your reactions feel stronger than they should. You understand your patterns—you may have even done therapy before—but insight alone hasn’t fully created the change you’re looking for. In our work together, we move beyond simply talking about the problem. I integrate EMDR and somatic-informed approaches to help your nervous system process experiences that may still be driving anxiety, perfectionism, or emotional intensity beneath the surface. When the body has a chance to settle, the mind often follows. Therapy becomes less about “figuring it out” and more about creating meaningful, embodied change. Our sessions are collaborative, focused, and respectful of your time and intelligence. I provide a calm, professional space where you can slow down without losing momentum. Together, we clarify what matters most to you and work toward a life that feels grounded, balanced, and genuinely fulfilling—not just successful on paper. If you’re ready for therapy that goes deeper than insight alone and supports lasting change, I’d be glad to connect. I invite you to schedule a free consultation through my website.

Hello and welcome to my page! Reaching out is the first step towards healing and I'm glad you are here. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and honest. Before moving into private practice I worked in a variety of therapeutic settings at the inpatient and residential level of care. I am passionate about helping others look back at the experiences that have shaped who they are so they might have a clearer and more satisfying path forward. I draw from a combination of techniques including psychodynamic and attachment theories. If you find that you have difficulty functioning in everyday life, finding joy, communicating effectively and maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships, I would love to work with you. As a counselor, I work with individuals struggling with little t trauma (emotional abuse, prolonged stress, chronic disappointment, abandonment, neglect, relational distress with family members and/or significant other), grief/loss, women’s issues, spiritual trauma, and those who would like to learn more about their attachment style. Outside of work my interests include hiking, kickboxing, paddle boarding and traveling anywhere a place, train, car, or boat can take me.

Living fully in the present can be hard when we’re still holding onto pain from our past. Far too often, to cope with our pain, we adapt in ways that helped us survive back then but limit us now. While it can be challenging to understand why we do the things we do and feel the way we feel, I’m here to meet you with compassion and curiosity. Together, we can explore the behaviors and beliefs that are holding you back from experiencing increased joy, purpose, and self-love. My Approach I tailor my approach based on your specific strengths and goals. Backed by research, the modalities I use are designed to empower you to move toward greater self-awareness and self-compassion. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) level one training, I’ll offer a roadmap for navigating the complexities of your inner world as we understand how each part of you has a story to share and a path to healing. I also utilize a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, including Attachment-Based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). With years of experience as a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), I also employ somatic interventions to help you attune to your body’s wisdom. For couples, my training in Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling equips me to support you in understanding and strengthening your relationship for the journey ahead. Who I Work With As a trauma-informed therapist, I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. Most of my clients have experienced traumatic events that have impacted their functioning which can often present as emotional overwhelm, relational issues, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, shame, grief, thoughts of self-harm, suicidal ideation, dissociation, disordered eating, and/or addiction. My Background I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. During my studies, I completed a thesis on Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Mental Health Counseling which shaped my approach to treatment emphasizing safety, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and trauma processing to foster clients’ wholeness and healing. Before grad school, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked in the nonprofit sector and corporate America. It is truly an honor to engage in this work. You deserve to live a life filled with hope, resilience, and joy. I can't wait to support you every step of the way.
