Therapists for college students near Indianapolis, IN
I've worked with families and individuals for over 12 years. My practice focuses primarily on anxiety disorders, grief/loss, life transitions, ADHD and OCD and combinations of those disorders (ADHD +Anxiety or ADHD +OCD). I also treat Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Trichotillomania (and other BFRBs). You may not be sure of how to "label" your experiences in terms of a diagnosis, but I can help you if you are feeling overwhelmed, having intrusive or unwanted anxious or negative thoughts, worry, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism or are are struggling in school or in personal relationships. I weave Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion throughout all of my sessions because I find that these methods provide a strong foundation for change. From there I select evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ERP, Written Exposure Therapy, motivational interviewing and various forms of body-based and expressive therapy techniques (written and visual) to address specific issues. My clients appreciate that I am compassionate, have a good sense of humor and I am down to earth.

Whether your student is navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, or a deficit in motivation and executive functioning, my goal is to deliver proactive, highly structured intervention. Through our bespoke consulting packages, we ensure students thrive both academically and personally, without falling through the cracks of large university systems. Specialized Therapeutic & Executive Function Support I provide focused, high-touch support tailored to the unique academic and personal demands of the college years, including: Executive Functioning & Motivation: Installing robust weekly schedules, study rules, and workflows to combat paralysis and build self-driven habits. Targeted Mental Health Care: Private therapeutic support for college-specific challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use. Academic Monitoring: Ongoing oversight, accountability check-ins, and early-warning risk detection to catch issues before they escalate into academic crises. Executive-Level Advisory: We act as a "family office" for your students well-being, providing parents with regular status briefs and clear guidance on what to monitor versus what to ignore. Hi! Like many therapists, I'm a 30-something cis, white woman who likes earth tones and metaphors. I especially enjoy working with individuals with mood disorders, complex trauma, chronic illness, and psychosis, as well as those who identify as artists/creatives and recovering perfectionists. I draw from various modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Health at Every Size (HAES), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. However, my most impactful training has happened in conversation with clients themselves. I recognize how my identities contribute to a power differential with my clients, especially when working with marginalized populations. I work to interrupt this power differential whenever possible by being antiracist in my work and prioritizing humility and transparency. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is key to any kind of growth and change, and therefore first honor creating an authentic relationship with the clients I work with.
