My clients are often struggling to find peace in their relationships to food, movement, and themselves. They are often motivated to find healing but unsure of where to start. They may have struggled with an eating disorder or disordered eating, but not always. I believe my clients are already holding the tools they need to work towards a more harmonious life.

I consider it a privilege to sit with individuals who feel driven to take on the challenge of personal growth. It’s hard to face the messiest parts of ourselves. We tend to avoid this at every cost, often with behaviors and habits that keep us distracted and numb. But therapy is about waking up. It’s about committing to the work of undoing old patterns that no longer serve us so we can show up more fully in our lives. I specialize in working with adults and teens (16+) who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and/or body image concerns. There isn’t one approach that works for everyone. I enjoy getting creative and finding a framework that best serves each client.

I'm a provider with 16 years experience working with LGBTQIA+ adult clients. My work often involves supporting folks around gender, sexuality, and family of origin issues, among all the other things people seek therapy for. I am trained in two different types of trauma therapy (EMDR and Flash) that are less talk-therapy focused, for folks who need different ways to approach things.

Starting therapy is hard. But it means you are making a choice to live a better life. Whether you’re struggling with feeling isolated, dealing with stress from work or school, or have feelings from your past that are holding you back, Casey wants to help. He will work to help you find a new way to actually live the life you want, by figuring out why you’re at where you are at and what can be done together to help you make different choices. As a therapist, Casey treats every client as an individual who will have their own specific wants and needs within therapy. Regardless of what techniques he uses, Casey prioritizes creating a strong bond with clients built on trust, understanding and unconditional non-judgment, so that he can help clients find new ways to deal with the difficulties that come with life. It is crucial for us to understand how the expectations that society puts on us due to various parts of outward identity impact our mental health. Casey is especially dedicated to trying to support men in dealing with their mental health and relationship as societal expectations and barriers often impact our ability to live fulfilling lives. While his work often draws influence from Acceptance and Commitment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy, no single model of therapy works for everyone so he often blends together practices from a variety of models in a way that best serves you. Casey has a Masters of Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Western Oregon University.

Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon. She chose social work as a second career, after having spent 20 years as manager and mentor in various government agencies. It was her own therapeutic journey, providing the insight and understanding to help her find grace in navigating the journey of life, which led her to further her education and complete her Masters of Social Work program. “I learned why I made decisions and choices in the past and how to use this knowledge to accept myself and move on. This is why I became a therapist, and this is the support I hope to offer you as my client. I have experienced the delicate balance of having a career, raising a teenager, taking care of elder parents and trying to identify what I needed for self-care.” After earning her degree, Kim worked for several years in a hospital behavioral health unit. Her approach is non-judgmental, person-centered and strength-based, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamics, Family Systems Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy. Kim has lived most of her life in Oregon and, as a single mom, adopted her now young-adult daughter from Guatemala. She has since added a loving husband, a huge Newfoundland dog and two rescue cats. Her interests include gardening, cooking, traveling and yoga. “My intention is to use my life and clinical experience to offer you a safe, trauma-informed space to help you discover you, and to help you find your path. I will listen and be supportive, helping you identify and untangle what gets in the way of you living life to the fullest. Life can be tricky, and its challenges sometimes seem overwhelming.” “It would be my privilege to help you in this journey.”

Hi! I’m Brittany with Active Counseling and Therapy. We are all unique. Each and every person has their own life experiences, expectations about life, and goals for life that influence their life lens and decision making. However, when our expectations become misaligned with our current experiences, we may feel anxious, depressed, or lack self esteem. These can trigger difficulties with romantic, familial, and friendly relationships. It is my goal to help you capitalize on your strengths and take steps to live the life of your dreams. I utilize a Person-Centered Approach that aligns with my philosophy and belief that every individual is different. While I do draw more often from tenets of Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), other modalities may be incorporated with a heavy influence on a strengths-based approach. Let’s get moving toward reaching your goals!

You feel alone, prioritize the needs of others, and wonder if things will change, asking: "What am I protecting? Who am I trying to be? What do I want?" Relationships (breakups, separation, dating, divorce) can bring up anxiety, regret, fear and self-judgment. These effect the relationship we have with ourselves. Resentments, anger, and guilt - toward others and within ourselves make us feel disconnected and alone. As a therapist, my aim is to help you reconnect with your SELF. Everyone is different. Our expectations and ideals are influenced by family history, surrounding cultural expectations, and unique experiences. Our therapy sessions help you develop tools to define relationships you want, conquer anxiety, past regrets, self doubt, negative self-image, and slowly dispose of the negative loud inner-monologue (which comes up frequently, when you are trying to navigate your road ahead.) I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist using Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) tools to develop a solid foundation of self - (via telehealth, online) in both Oregon and Washington State. Specialties: Individuals dealing with sleep issues/insomnia, difficulty with focus (ADHD); folks going through separation/divorce to develop purpose, motivation and intention; individuals in relationships cultivate/improve connection; single individuals build a sense of self (aligned with values) which can be applied toward dating and future relationships. __________________________________________ Interested in seeing if we connect?
