Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
With 13 years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist, I enjoy the opportunity to create a safer space for people to explore personal growth, discover ways to thrive with unique challenges and give themselves permission to live at their own pace. I specialize in Trauma informed care, EMDR and Process arts. I come from a person centered approach. I enjoy helping people work through traumas such as auto accidents, sexual trauma, assaults, medical trauma and abuse. I help people find ways to manage and navigate bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, chronic pain and psychosis. I have specialized training and volunteer in spaces to support the LGBTQ, kinky, poly and disabled populations.
You and your life isn’t one note. You are multifaceted and the demands you face happen to be as well – particularly when you are a student. Currently, the sound-track of your life has moved away from the sounds of a harmonious symphony -or maybe from an upbeat pop song- to something more unnerving and stressful (like the alarm you use to wake up to in the morning or the background music in a horror film—building tension, bracing yourself from some known or unknown threat). It makes sense that life has been overwhelming -increased responsibilities and life demands alone would contribute to this feeling. Add fears about the future, a recent breakup, challenging relationship dynamics with family, and/or other stressors and you might find yourself tipping the scales of your emotional bandwidth. I help students focus on the unique aspects of their lives that are no longer serving them – with empathy, tools, problem-solving, and emotional healing and growth. I believe you can have a richer and higher-quality of life– free from the overwhelming influence of your current life demands, harmful past experiences, poor modeling, and environmental toxicities (psychological). Many people arrive at care feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or discouraged after carrying the weight of their symptoms for far too long. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or treatment-resistant symptoms that haven't responded the way you hoped, you deserve more than a rushed appointment and a prescription. You deserve to feel heard and supported, by a clinician who takes the time to listen. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in medication management and psychiatric diagnosis for adults, and I work with a wide range of individuals who may appear high-functioning on the outside while quietly struggling within. My goal is to create a space that feels collaborative, personalized, and compassionate, one where we work together to understand what's truly contributing to your symptoms and find a treatment approach that fits your life and your goals. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but meaningful improvement is possible. When you feel ready, I would be honored to be part of your journey. Specialties include adult psychiatric evaluation and medication management, anxiety disorders, depression and treatment-resistant depression, ADHD and executive dysfunction, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and burnout. Every person who walks through my door is treated as exactly that: a person, not a diagnosis or a checklist. Care should feel like a partnership, and from your first visit, you can expect to be genuinely included in the decisions about your treatment. I offer comprehensive psychiatric assessments, personalized medication management, diagnostic clarification, and ongoing monitoring to ensure your treatment continues to serve you well over time. For patients who have struggled with difficult medication transitions or treatment failures, I provide supportive guidance through those moments as well. Specialties also include interventional psychiatry, including TMS and IV ketamine therapies. If you are exploring or currently undergoing any of these treatments, you will have a knowledgeable partner alongside you every step of the way. Whatever brings you in, the goal remains the same: to improve your overall functioning and quality of life in a way that feels sustainable and right for you. Growing up in rural West Virginia, I saw firsthand how limited access to mental health resources can be, and how much that gap costs people who deserve support. This early awareness stayed with me. It was during my time working at the Department of Veterans Affairs that I found my direction in psychiatric care, a field where the stakes are high and the need for compassionate, skilled support is undeniable. Personal experience has also shaped the way I show up for my patients. Having watched loved ones navigate mental health challenges, I understand how hard it can be to ask for help and how much it means to find someone who truly listens. That understanding is at the heart of everything I do. When I'm not in the office, you'll find me thrifting, junk journaling, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying creative ventures through Mic & Madds. I'm also a devoted mom to two boys and a full house of animals: three dogs, one cat, two jumping spiders, and two hermit crabs.
Feeling overwhelmed, behind, anxious, unsure, or like you’re constantly juggling too much? College can bring intense pressure to perform, stay productive, and have a plan—often while managing relationships, family expectations, finances, and questions about who you’re becoming. Even when things are going well academically or socially, many students carry a quiet sense of stress, self-doubt, or disconnection that’s hard to put into words. College is often referred to as the “best years of your life,” yet it’s also a time of major transition and identity formation. You may be making important decisions about your future while still figuring out what you value, what you want, and how to trust yourself. It’s common to feel stuck, anxious, or alone during this period—especially when it seems like everyone else is more confident or has things figured out. How We’ll Work Together I pay close attention to the tension many young adults feel between the part of them seeking stability and the part longing for meaning. It’s common to feel torn between wanting security—a solid job, steady relationships, a clear plan—and wanting a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and alive. In our work, we’ll explore this inner conflict with curiosity rather than judgment and find a way forward that integrates both of these core desires. Many young adults also carry a quiet sense of “I should be further along by now,” shaped by family expectations, social comparison, and cultural pressure. Together, we’ll slow down these narratives and build a relationship to yourself that’s based on honesty, compassion, and your actual needs—not someone else’s timeline. We’ll explore patterns in your relationships, clarify your values, likes, and dislikes, and build skills that help you move through the world with more confidence and ease. Therapy becomes a place to practice new ways of relating: setting boundaries, being more authentic, understanding your emotional patterns, and building healthier relationships. We’ll look at where your values, instincts, and longings are trying to guide you, and how to make choices that align with who you’re becoming.
At some point, many people realize that what they're doing is no longer working, but they're not sure what to do to fix it. I specialize in people (13+) and families who are dealing with conflict, self-defeating behaviors, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, loneliness, relationship issues, low self-esteem, or questions of identity. Through my practice, I've successfully helped clients move past issues that have blocked them from living fully, completely, and whole-heartedly. While working with me, they've been able to find more joy, happiness, success, and peace in the areas of their life that matter most to them. Together, we'll build your self-awareness, develop clarity on your goals and values, and foster an understanding of where you're coming from and where you'd like to go. I use several evidence-based modalities to help my clients do that, but the most important aspect of my practice is my relational, non-judgmental, open, direct, and clear approach. My work matters deeply to me and I feel a strong calling to give my clients my best, session after session. There's no better feeling I get than when my clients sense their progress and recognize that their life is changing in ways they've always longed for. If any of this has resonated with you, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's talk.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and women’s issues, including Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. As a somatic psychotherapist and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-D/MT), I offer an integrative, body-centered approach to therapy that supports healing, self-discovery, and meaningful change. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your experiences. I strive to bring cultural humility, curiosity, and respect to each therapeutic relationship. Asking for support can be scary and overwhelming! I invite you to take a deep breath and trust that inner voice that got you this far. If you feel we would be a good fit, or you would like to connect further before deciding, please do not hesitate to reach out via phone or email. You can also text 970-829-8780.
Hello all! I am a therapist with extensive experience helping people heal from trauma and navigate stress. I have worked and trained all over the world - in Northern Iraq, India, and Costa Rica, helping folks heal from war trauma and violence. I now work in Denver with New Americans and immigrant families as they adjust to the US, and here in Boulder with anyone ready to heal from trauma and feel more alive. My practice is called Prosocial because it is a community-based model, which means when you come to therapy with Prosocial, you make it possible for others to access affordable, low-cost therapy. Your session gives a session, and every session counts. This is where self-care becomes community care. Find out more at my website at the bottom of this page. Let's heal together!

You are insightful, sensitive, and often hard on yourself — even when no one else sees it. Maybe you’ve learned to cope by staying busy, staying strong, or staying small. But beneath the surface, you’re longing for more: more peace, more connection, more truth. I work with college students navigating anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship struggles, and life transitions
In many ways, it's a hard time to be a human being. Feelings of isolation, depression, anxiety, and directionlessness are all exceedingly common in our culture. Most of us are connected with very few people who can be role models and lead by example. Therapy can be a powerful force of change in your life if you are willing to look inside deeply and address what isn't working for you. Having a therapist who can guide this process for you is a gift. If you know the way you are showing up is not working for you, that's a great place to start therapy from. I am passionate about working with neurodivergence, relationship issues, spirituality, men's issues, and personal growth. I blend a warm presence with a direct, straight-up style of communication that helps you access what is going on inside of you and feel supported there. My approach blends Gestalt, IFS, mindfulness, humor, and radical self-responsibility. I would love to hear from you about what you are looking to get out of therapy. Call, text, or email to schedule a consultation call :)

A lot of the students I work with are trying to juggle classes, friends, family, a rigorous academic schedule, all the while trying to maybe work, eat well, get sleep, and figure out what’s next—and it can feel overwhelming. Some deal with stress, anxiety, or low mood, while others are navigating breakups, roommate issues, or just the pressure of having to “have it all together.” I tend to connect best with students who are open to talking things through, even if they’re not sure what they need yet. You don’t have to have the answers or know exactly what you want out of counseling—that’s something we can figure out together. I have worked in higher education prior to starting my private counseling practice, both at Colorado School of Mines and CU Boulder assisting students with their mental health and career direction - I understand the unique pressures students are under, specifically STEM students. It’s completely normal to feel lost or stuck at times. Having a space to talk it out, gain perspective, and feel supported can make a big difference. Feel free to reach out and I would be happy to discuss what unique challenges you may be facing and see if working together might be a good fit. Please reach out via Thriving Campus or on my website directly!
At Helen’s Project, we provide a safe, supportive space for students who are navigating real-life challenges, whether that’s stress from school, anxiety, relationship struggles, or just feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Many of the people we support are balancing a lot, academics, family expectations, work, or personal struggles, and don’t always feel like they have a place to talk about it openly. Our goal is to make mental health care feel approachable and real. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you’re dealing with something specific or just know something feels off, we’re here to meet you where you are and help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.
