Welcome to my page! If you have found yourself here, you may be finding the adjustment to college a little tougher than expected, feeling stressed out or anxious, or maybe just a little blue. Your college years are very formative years of your life, but they can also bring unique challenges. I truly enjoy walking this path alongside students, and provide a safe and nurturing space for young adults to go from surviving to thriving.
It takes courage and self-compassion to embrace vulnerability. As a therapist working with children, adolescents, and young adults, I strive to create a haven of unconditional positive regard that welcomes and values the whole person. My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and attachment-based theories. I emphasize authentic, caring, empathetic, supportive, and collaborative connections. If you're navigating complex and challenging thoughts, feelings, or life experiences, I invite you to continue your journey of exploration and self-discovery with me. Together, we can explore and adjust pathways to develop safe and secure connections with yourself and others. I believe that healing, growth, and change are possible for everyone, both from within ourselves and through experiencing a genuine sense of belonging. Through connection, my hope is to invite and encourage a space for us to explore in depth the underlying challenges that may be causing current pain and stress. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Children's and Adolescent Counseling. I have five years of experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field, working as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at an ABA clinic, a Family Case Manager at the Indianapolis Department of Child Services, and a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist in an elementary school setting. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young professionals, and adults experiencing interpersonal intricacies, life transitions, executive functioning difficulties, self-esteem and self-image issues, and multicultural identity exploration and formation. I integrate a variety of theoretical orientations in sessions depending on each person's specific needs, such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and attachment theory. I work under the direct clinical supervision of Drew Phillips, LMFT, and the clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT.
I provide individual therapy to young adults and adults experiencing a range of concerns including substance use, trauma, life transitions, and the unique stressors men face. I approach counseling from the perspective that you already have strengths and abilities that you can use to become your strongest self. Together, we find those strengths and put them to work towards your goals. As part of this I often use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, a technique that looks at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It’s been shown to be incredibly effective at helping people make lasting changes in their lives. I am a Master Addiction Counselor and trained in E.M.D.R., a technique shown to be effective in treating trauma. It is also common that you may not have your finger on exactly what you hope to work on, yet you know you are seeking growth and change. If that’s the case, therapy can be a powerful tool to help you clarify what you want and how to best get it. If you are interested in learning more about how working together can help you reach your goals, contact me for a free consultation. Consultations are done by phone, take about 15 minutes and give us a chance to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

We are Living Fully Psychological Services, but affectionately call ourselves Living Fully Therapy. Dr. Pegah Moghaddam is the owner and founder of Living Fully. We provide therapy online and in-person at an office located in Atlanta, Georgia, within walking distance of Emory University. Our psychologists and therapists specialize in therapy for trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and sleep. With life experience comes pain, loss, and suffering. Our goal is to learn about and understand your unique history and life path with openness, compassion, acceptance, and patience. We will teach you to do the same for yourself, as these factors are necessary to the process of change and ultimately to live fully. From there, we will determine where you'd like to go and the most effective process to achieving your goals. We are honored to facilitate your journey toward living fully. Please note that we are an out-of-network, non-preferred provider with Aetna student health insurance for Emory students. If you are enrolled in the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan (EUSHIP), you will need a referral from Emory Student Health Services to Living Fully before starting sessions. The 2023-2024 EUSHIP has a $750 deductible for non-preferred providers, which you will typically meet within your first 5-6 sessions at Living Fully. We can partner together to find solutions to situations and circumstances that feel overwhelming or confusing. Give me a call and we'll get started.

Trauma and pain from past and present experiences can stop you in your tracks, leaving you stuck in the same patterns, of thinking, feeling and behaving that eventually lead to building a life of obligation, duty and fear rather than one of fulfillment, meaning and connection. But with a little help, you can pause, learn tools, gain insights and figure out where and how you need to change direction. You are not responsible for everything that has happened to you AND you are responsible for making meaning from the life you are living. How you do this depends on whom you believe yourself to be. Our work will help you to heal YOU. I understand the connection between empowerment and recovery and believe our choices can change our lives. My work includes: trauma survivors, PTSD, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, substance use and general/social stressors. My clients include : therapists, all genders, LGBTQ, veterans, African Americans, and diverse races/ethnicities. I have nearly 10 years of practice experience, using multiple approaches to help move you from where you are to where you would like to be. I look forward to our work together.
