I work with many clients that are dealing with current or past traumas, general anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress management, and low self confidence. If you see yourself in any of those scenarios please reach out and let's talk! Allow me to be your sounding board. The first step towards healing is taking that initial step. Making sure my clients feel heard is my number one priority.
Hi, I’m Dhvani! I offer virtual therapy sessions for students in NY and NJ who may be looking for support beyond their campus counseling center. I work with people navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions—especially during demanding or uncertain times in school. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I understand that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll tailor our work based on your goals—whether that means building practical tools to manage day-to-day stress or exploring deeper patterns that may be shaping your experiences. Finding the right therapist matters. If you’re interested in working together, I’d be happy to connect for a free consultation to see if it feels like a good fit for you.
I have experience with a variety of issues and diagnosis, but typically my specialities include people who have experienced eating disorders, anxiety, trauma & ptsd, and borderline personality disorder. Therapy is a place for you to navigate your struggles with me as the passenger beside you. I show up for my clients authentically, to make it easier for them to do so as well. I would describe myself as down to earth, direct, and witty, relying on humor to make therapy feel less daunting. Healing can be uncomfortable, but you don't have to go at it alone.
People come to therapy for many different reasons, but, at the core, they are looking for understanding, relief, or growth. Maybe you’re trying to understand why you feel the way you do, or you find yourself caught in the same difficult thoughts again and again. Perhaps you’ve noticed patterns of behavior that seem to work against your own well-being. You might be facing a life transition—chosen or not—and are feeling anxious about what’s next. Or maybe you just feel stuck. Therapy offers a space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening. Together, we can clarify your current experience, explore how you got here, and begin to shape a healthier, more fulfilling path forward.
I get that college can be a big life transition and overwhelming at times. I specialize in anxiety and stress and help students who feel stuck in worry, overthinking, panic, or burnout. I can also help with the challenge of new relationships in college and managing old ones as well. I use and teach practical and energetic tools for nervous system regulation so you're not just talking about your stress - you're learning how to manage it in real time. My style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. College is also a time when questions about sexual orientation and gender identity often become more present. I offer an affirming, supportive space to explore whatever is coming up for you - at your own pace. You don't have to navigate transition alone.

I have worked as a psychologist at 5 colleges during the course of my career, including serving as a counseling center director for many years. This means that I have a passion and commitment to students who are pursuing their education. Whether you are a traditional age student or non-traditional age student, college brings with it many new experiences and opportunities for personal growth and self discovery which can also be emotionally and interpersonally challenging. I specialize in assisting students with transitions such as changes in family dynamics, romantic relationships, career, adapting to a new environment cultural and other identity issues, educational struggles, stress, grief and loss, and shifts in personal or loved ones’ health. My extensive background in college student mental health has enhanced my ability to collaborate compassionately and respectfully with individuals from all walks of life, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
I like to think of therapy as a journey of inner exploration and I am along as a guide. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a combination of intellectual understanding and emotional experience. In that regard, it feels like your feelings are our road signs that we are in the right track to self-growth. I try to not have a specific agenda going into sessions, but rather to go where it is you feel like you need to go at that time. I believe that it is my role to create a safe space for you to express and explore whatever it is that is inside you. Compassion is key, and cultivating self-compassion is one of the most important elements of therapy. I look forward to helping you explore and become more self-aware and self-compassionate!

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. As a therapist, I can help you learn to cope with the difficult situations life throws at you. I specialize in life transitions, trauma, and grief, and my practice is located in Smithtown, New York. I can't wait to meet you.
I work with college students and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure of themselves. Many of the people I work with are navigating big life transitions, academic challenges, family stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or feeling pressure to “have it all figured out.” You might be someone who overthinks, struggles with motivation or confidence, feels different from others, or finds yourself repeating patterns in relationships that leave you feeling hurt or misunderstood. Some clients are coping with substance use (their own or someone else’s), growing up in difficult family systems, or trying to heal from experiences that still affect them today. The clients I work best with are open to self-reflection and want support making meaningful changes, even if they’re not exactly sure where to start. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you better understand yourself, build practical tools, and feel more grounded and confident in your life.
Hello! I help clients seeking to become “unstuck,” to meet new challenges, and to navigate relationships and emotions. I help individuals with anxiety, relationships, stress management, self-esteem, and decision making. I primarily use techniques based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I incorporate mindfulness practices if they appeal to the client. I am non-judgmental, warm, and active. I will strive to develop a nuanced understanding and appreciation of your values, needs, and struggles. We will clarify obstacles, evaluate coping strategies, identify personally meaningful goals, and develop skills necessary for a path forward. I have extensive experience with young adults, including those who are in undergraduate, graduate, and early career stages. I understand the unique challenges that this life stage presents and support clients as they navigate their identity, education, careers, and relationships. I also support young adults with time management, organizational skills, goal-setting, and planning. Please reach out for a consultation and to learn about working together.

I believe the most important foundation in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. The therapy relationship can be a safe place to practice new skills that you are hoping to bring back to the rest of your life. My goal is to help you to feel safe during your time with me, so that you can explore yourself, your challenges, your strengths, your history, and anything else that is important to you. I also hope to help you make the changes that you would like to make in your life. Maybe you can feel better than you do now. Maybe you can learn more skills to cope with what feels hard. Maybe you need to be heard and validated. Whatever brings you to therapy, I’m here for it.
