Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
I work with young adults who are navigating anxiety, overwhelm, perfectionism, body image concerns, and challenges in their relationship with food. Many of the individuals I work with are high-achieving and driven, but find themselves struggling with stress, self-doubt, burnout, or feeling like they are never quite doing enough. My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. Together, we explore the factors impacting your mental health—including relationships, daily habits, societal pressures, and life transitions—while helping you develop practical tools to manage difficult emotions, build self-confidence, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life. I strive to provide a supportive space where you can show up authentically, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change.

I work best with clients who want therapy to feel both meaningful and human. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, sex and sexuality, and life transitions. My style is collaborative, trauma-informed, and flexible. I pull from multiple different therapy modalities depending on what fits you best. We’ll pay attention to what’s happening in your body, your relationships, and your inner world. I show up with warmth, honesty, and curiosity. I believe that healing happens when people feel safe to be all of themselves: messy, soft, over the top, and everything in between. As a queer therapist, I know how powerful it is to sit across from someone who just gets it. I’m passionate about body liberation, LGBTQ+ rights, and mental health care that doesn’t pathologize people for having feelings. I believe in justice, in community care, and in showing up authentically with the people I serve. I’ve walked through my own healing journey, and that makes me deeply committed to walking beside others in theirs.
I’m a licensed counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover their strengths. I specialize in working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues, and I bring a compassionate, collaborative approach to the therapy process. In addition to my general practice, I have extensive experience supporting college students as they work through academic pressures, identity exploration, transitions, and personal growth. I understand that reaching out for support is a brave step, and I’m here to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s on your mind and begin working toward meaningful change. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a session, feel free to reach out. I’d be honored to be part of your journey. Warm regards,

I’m really glad you’re here! I work with Attento Counseling, supporting adults as they navigate stress, life transitions, relationships, and the everyday weight that can feel hard to carry alone, the quiet weight that often goes unseen. I believe therapy should be a calm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are—no judgment, no pressure, and no need to have everything figured out. Just a place where you can slow down, be heard, and be supported yourself to begin to sort through what’s on your mind. I create a safe space for you to have just room to be honest, to exhale, and to sort through what you’ve been carrying. This is an opportunity to process what’s going so that you don’t lose yourself and an opportunity for you to define yourself, especially when life gets heavy.

When counseling, I look at the whole person not just the current situation. I take time to get to know you and understand your situation and/or concerns. I treat all my clients with the utmost respect and compassion. I use motivational skills to help my patients see their strengths and help them create achievable goals. I believe in breaking the big goal into smaller goals that lead to meeting that larger goal. I believe this creates positive reinforcement for my clients and improves their emotional health, during what could be a difficult time in their life. I look forward to helping you improve your mental health, one step at a time
Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked in the mental health field since 2004 and wants to see her clients live holistic, full, integrated lives and thus in collaboration with the client attempts to address all concerns in a way that is customized to each individual person's needs and wants. For some individuals this will mean homework outside of sessions (CBT), for others it may mean the use of a specialized technique (like EMDR), and for some individuals this may mean traditional talk therapy (perhaps in conjunction with walking during therapy). Amanda sees adults for individual and group therapy for varying concerns including but not limited to grief, trauma, sexual addictions, depression, and anxiety. Amanda has a particular interest in seeing young adults thrive in the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Are anxiety, depression, or mood swings making it hard to feel steady in your daily life? I work with children, adolescents, and adults across Georgia who are navigating anxiety, major depression, and bipolar disorder. Whether you're feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in low motivation, or struggling with intense highs and lows, therapy can help you build practical tools for emotional regulation, stability, and resilience. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focused on skill-building. Together, we’ll strengthen coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and increase your sense of safety and confidence so you can manage symptoms more effectively and feel more in control. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Therapy is a space to slow down, be heard, and develop a clear plan for the future. If you’re ready for structured, supportive care, I invite you to schedule a consultation.
Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.

Life and College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Many of the students I work with are trying to figure out their career path while also managing stress, anxiety, or feeling down. You might be questioning your major, worrying about the future, struggling with social anxiety, or feeling pressure to keep everything together while balancing school and life. I work best with college students who want a supportive place to talk through what they’re experiencing and learn practical ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty about their next steps. Together, we focus on helping you feel more confident in your choices, manage difficult emotions, and build skills that make college—and life beyond it—feel more manageable.
